Summer Basketball Camp 2024

Enrollment:                             Rising grades 4th – 8th boys and 6th-8th girls
Dates:                                         Monday, June 10 - Thursday, June 13, 2024
Location:                                  Desana Middle School, 625 James Rd. Alpharetta, GA 30004
Daily Schedule:                     8:30am-12:00pm Rising Grades 4th – 6th boys and Grades 6th - 8th girls     
                                                         12:30pm-4:00pm Rising Grades 7th and 8th boys
Awards Ceremony:            Thursday the last 20 minutes of each session
Investment:                             $150 ($175 after April 30th)

Program Content:
-Speed, agility and flexibility training              
-Improvement of weak hand      
-Proper shooting form and preparation                     
-Necessary body lean while ball-handling
-Becoming a “two footed player”               
-Individual & team defensive stance alignment
-Personal reliability within the team defense   
-Offensive non-ball skills
-Understanding of defensive angles and rotations
-Reading the secondary defense
-Assessing the defense for proper passing angles and entries               
-Understanding and escaping pressure defenses
-Rebounding strategies utilizing leverage and horizontal concept             
-Proper screening angles, techniques and reads
 
Methods Employed: 
-Motivated and enthusiastic environment                                 
-On court demonstrations with active participation and repetition          
-Competitive breakdown drills for skill development under game conditions                                                        
-Improved foot speed, quickness and reaction time
-Explaining the “why” to increase comprehension level
