Collegiate Prep Basketball Academy was founded in 2005 and is owned and operated by Coach Bert Tucker.

Coach Tucker began his college coaching career as an assistant at St. Joseph’s College, ME and quickly earned a reputation as an enthusiastic communicator and teacher of the game. In two years, his team played in two conference championships games and earned a berth in the 1996 National Tournament. While at St. Joe's, COach Tucker was hired by Rick Barnes at both Clemson University and the University of Texas to develop the skills of future NBA stars such as Chris Mihm (Los Angeles Lakers), Greg Buckner (Philadelphia 76ers) and Harold Jamison (Miami Heat).

For his efforts, Coach Tucker was hired as the head coach at Newbury College in Brookline, MA. In his second season at the helm, the team had the highest GPA in the history of the program and reached the Final Four! At the conclusion of that season, Coach Tucker was recognized as the District V Coach of the Year as well as a finalist for the National Coach of the Year award.

That summer, Coach Tucker was invited by Coach Dennis Felton to join the staff at Western Kentucky University. In Coach Tucker's four years at WKU, the Hilltoppers captured three straight Sun Belt Conference championships and competed in three consecutive NCAA tournaments. During that stretch, the team earned road victories against Dennis Crum's Louisville Cardinals (Freedom Hall) and the #4 ranked Wildcats of Kentucky (Rupp Arena).

In April of 2003, Coach Tucker joind Coach Felton again, as an assistant coach at the University of Georgia, and was instrumental in the Bulldogs revitalization that season. 

In nine years as a college coach, Coach Tucker's teams participated in six Conference Championships, winning five, while making three NCAA, one NAIA, one NIT, and 1 NJCAA National Tournament appearances. Coach Tucker has utilized and refined his teaching methods for twenty plus years at multiple levels, producing twenty professional level players and countless collegiate players.

Today, as the founder of Collegiate Prep Basketball Academy, Coach Tucker brings his unique talents and teaching methods to every student. He is dedicated to making each of his players the best they can be.
